Southampton Elementary, Southampton Intermediate, and Southampton High School have all been recognized by the Spanish Embassy's Ministry as an International Spanish Academy (ISA).  In order to be recognized as an International Spanish Academy, the school must demonstrate excellence in Spanish language instruction.

International Spanish Academies are educational centers known for their academic prestige encompassing all grade levels from K through 12. These schools employ a bilingual curriculum for all or part of their student body. These centers sign a collaborative agreement with the Ministry of Education of Spain. The program is carried out within the framework of cooperative activities by the Office of Education of Spain in the U.S and Canada. Spanish Visiting Teachers, Spanish Language and Culture Assistants, Summer Courses In Spain for Teachers and Students, Spanish Resources Centers, and State and National ISA Seminars are just a few of the programs offered by The Spanish Ministry.
