Frequently Asked Questions:

How and when are job opportunities posted?

Employment opportunities are posted as vacancies become available within the District.

How long are the job postings open?

Most job postings remain open for approximately 5–10 days. Applications must be submitted during the active posting period to be considered.

If a vacancy still exists after the posting closes, the position may be reposted with a new application period.

What is the application process?

After a posting closes, applications are reviewed by the hiring administrator and/or hiring committee.

The hiring process may include:

  • Application review and screening
  • Interviews with administrators and/or hiring committees
  • Reference checks
  • Additional or final interviews with District administration
  • Recommendation for employment

Selected candidates are responsible for completing all required pre-employment paperwork and onboarding requirements such as:

  • Fingerprinting clearance
  • Employment eligibility verification
  • Certification verification
  • Payroll and benefits forms

When is employment officially approved?

All employment recommendations are subject to approval by the Board of Education. Employment is not considered final until Board approval has been granted.

In some cases, when hiring is needed between scheduled Board of Education meetings, the Superintendent of Schools may authorize an interim appointment pending formal Board approval at the next Board meeting.

For more additional details on the Hiring Process and Hiring Commitees, please head over to the BoardDocs Policy Book.

What is the difference between RecruitFront and SchoolFront?

RecruitFront is the District’s public-facing employment application system. External candidates use RecruitFront to view job postings, create an account, submit applications, and upload required documents.

SchoolFront is the District’s internal human resources platform used by current employees, administrators, and Human Resources for internal processes, onboarding, employee forms, and internal job postings.

Both systems work together to support the District’s hiring and onboarding process from application through employment.

Fingerprinting Requirements

New York State requires fingerprint clearance for:

  • All new employees of school districts, BOCES, and charter schools
  • Applicants seeking NYS teaching or pupil personnel certifications

Additional information is available through the NYSED Fingerprinting Information Page.

How do I get Fingerprinted?

It’s a very easy process. Fingerprinting services for NYSED are provided through IdentoGO by IDEMIA.

  • Service Code: 14ZGR7
  • Current Cost: $104.50
  • Payment Responsibility: Applicant/Employee

Fingerprint clearance takes about 24 hours to process and must be received prior to beginning employment.
