Position Title: SHS BASA Teacher

 

Location: Southampton High School

 

Salary/Pay Scale: Teachers - $106.17 per hour/ Bilingual Teaching Assistants - $49.95 per hour (42 hours total)

 

Description: Teacher and Teaching Assistant candidates are needed for the SHS BASA program. The program will take place after school during the 2025-2026 school year. Teachers will provide comprehensive literacy and content instruction with effective support for language development and content understanding. Instruction will be delivered in Spanish and English. Instruction for each session will focus on phonemic awareness, tiered vocabulary, English/Spanish cognates, grammar, word study, language concepts, reading strategies and comprehension skills. Language development will be enhanced through content instruction.

 

Requirements: Teacher candidates must hold a valid NYS certification in either English as a Second Language, Social Studies 7-12, Mathematics 7-12, Earth Science and Living Environment. Bilingual teaching assistant candidates must hold a valid certificate.
