Salary/Pay Scale: $1,338

Description: The Mentor assists a new teacher in making a smooth transition to the Southampton School District. Mentor will provide support, general guidance, feedback and problem solving guidance separate from the evaluation process. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Reviewing required paperwork, guiding new teacher through procedures and protocols of the building, grading policy/systems, assessment schedules, faculty/department meetings, association/contractual information, emergency procedures, extracurricular activities, duties and professional development opportunities. Reports to the School Principal

Requirement: The Mentor is a tenured Teacher. Mentor will be required to maintain paperwork in the form of Mentor Planning Sheet (Fall and Spring) and a Mentor Log (continuous throughout the year). The mentor log will represent and record the description, date, and hours of interactions with the assigned mentee. It is expected that mentors will spend 1 hour per week with the mentee
