Southampton cuts ribbon on new administration building

Southampton School District officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Feb. 28 to officially mark the opening of the district’s new administration building at 300-301 Hampton Road, Southampton.

The building was recently renovated to house all the district’s central office staff, previously located at 425 County Road 39A, as well as the school safety office, the facilities department and the technology department.

The $4.9 million purchase of the building was approved by voters in 2023 using capital reserve funds, with an additional $3.5 million approved by voters for renovations to the building using the district’s Property Acquisition and Facility Construction Capital Reserve Fund.

“We are very excited to have a centrally located district office near all three of our district buildings,” said Superintendent Dr. Fatima Morrell.
