Position Title: My Brother's Keeper (MBK) Coordinator - Black/African American and Latino Boys (1)

Location: Southampton Intermediate School
Salary/Pay Scale: $2,500 stipend
Description of Position: The MBK Coordinator will facilitate group activities, conversations and book studies. The program will focus on youth leadership development and social emotional wellness. The Coordinator will meet with mentors to plan and organize meeting sessions, organize guest speakers and activities to introduce students to various careers and educational opportunities and will coordinate all aspects of the program. The Coordinator will meet in person with 5th to 8th grade Black/African American and Latino boys during after school hours at the Southampton Intermediate School. The Coordinator will meet quarterly with the Director of ENL, DL, WL and DEI Programs to review program status throughout the year. The program will be scheduled for the 2024-2025 school year.
My Brother’s Keeper initiative seeks to “Change the Narrative” of boys and young men of color, and all students, by closing and eliminating the opportunity gaps they face and helping them to reach their full potential.
Requirements: NYS Teaching Certification, NYS Dept. of Education Fingerprint Clearance and actie relationships with Black/African American and Latino students & families is required.
